Best Mashup Contest @ Mashup Camp Dublin

There are two contests at Mashup Camp Dublin. One is the regular Best Mashup Contest that we run at every Mashup Camp. The other is IBM's Business Mashup Challenge which involves cash prizes of US$3000 and other prizes. You should consider entering both. Here's what you need to know about entering the regular contest.

Rules: Basically, there are none

We get a lot of questions about how the Best Mashup Contest works. Upon gaining entry into Mashup Camp, every attendee will be given a single wooden nickel. Then, during Mashup Camp, we will be running what's called SpeedGeeking sessions. This is like speed dating except the mashup developers will be camped out at various tables and you'll be roaming from table to table in small groups of about 3-7 people for about 5 minutes per table. Then, after you've seen all or most of the mashups that are trying to win the contest, you decide for yourself which one is best (using your own criteria) and give the developer of that mashup your wooden nickel. The developer with the most wooden nickels at the end of Mashup Camp wins.

To see the mashups that were entered into prior Mashup Camps, see:

So, what do you need to do at this point?

First, if you're a developer, then make sure you list the mashup(s) that you're going to enter into the contest on the Mashup Camp 5 Speed Geeking page. If you're not a developer and will be voting, be sure to visit the SpeedGeeking page to familarize yourself with some of the entries.

Second, make sure you get your wooden nickel when you enter Mashup Camp.

Third, if you're a developer, make sure you do some campaigning throughout camp. If you're a voter, seek out the developers during the free periods to find out more about their mashups.
