Dynamic geolocation as a service
From MashupCamp
Come and check out a preview build of the next version of Loki. Loki is the first location-based toolbar, available for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Loki leverages the Wi-Fi position system from Skyhook Wireless to deliver location-based services and content to you based on your dynamic location.
In the upcoming version of Loki, we will be exposing our location API through Javascript to allow websites to access a user's current location as context for services and content. In our example we will show you how to retrieve a users location, use it with other APIs and even show you how to maximize profits from Google's AdSense by adding location information.
We are also interested in getting feedback on how website developers want to access location information and how they want to use it. If you are interested in Location-Based Services, be sure not to miss this session and help shape the product.
Everyone who attends will also get a copy of the latest build to keep playing with it at home and provide feeback after the session.
The presentation will be given by Ryan Sarver. Ryan is in charge of Product Development at Skyhook Wireless, the developer of Loki.
