You might call me a serial entrepreneur, since I started, ran and sold 4 high-tech companies since 1988. I sold my last company to Xythos and then worked there for 3 years before retiring in April 2005. Now I am returning to my first love -- programming.
I have been working on a web site for my son’s baseball club, Tri-Cities Baseball, and created a registration system using Ruby on Rails (RoR). It is always hard to learn a new language AND a new framework, but it is a testament to RoR that I was able to accomplish so much in a short time.
I also turned the Tri-Cities Baseball site into a RoR Wiki that uses the Textile markup language. Then, I used the same technique to turn my own web site into a Wiki.
Another activity that has been keeping me busy is helping startups. I really enjoy this because I like working with people and being able to share what I have learned over the last 20 years.
Oh, and I have been playing too, surfing as much as I can as well as mountain bike riding, and just hanging out with my family.
