Omar Abdelwahed, Producer, Ubisoft

Omar Abdelwahed is a Producer at Ubisoft Entertainment. His work focuses on producing games for social networks and connecting devices that are proliferating today’s world. (In short, he gets paid to play with Facebook on his iPhone.)

Omar graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. He has worked in Entertainment and Retail for the last 8 years launching several online properties and new business initiatives for Best Buy and Musicland. While at Best Buy, Omar led the development of the Remix Open API (http://remix.bestbuy.com/) that allows mashup developers access to Best Buy's product catalog and store information.

In that space-time continuum people call "free time", Omar enjoys riding motorcycles (currently, the 100th-year anniversary edition, Harley-Davidson V-Rod); writing SF stories (he has numerous "please do not call" letters from several famous magazine editors); lead singer and keyboards in various bands (he's quite good actually); and playing WoW (LF39M any instance, all full on hunters, PST "blinks" on Khadgar).
