I'm interested in exploring how Google Earth (or another tool set) can be mashed with an Encyclopedia (of sorts) to show me what the world's border looked like in 1812 (including things like tribal areas) or in 4000 bc, showing me where different ethnic groups may have lived.

I'm interested in this somewhat as a research project, somewhat as a potential business, somewhat as an educational tool, and mostly out of my own curiosity.
